Sculptuaral textiles, inspired by explosions made from muslin, wax, puff binder, embroidery and chochet.

Avant -Garde dresses, headpieces and jewelry, i can see these textural sculptures translating into any of them. Although made with an massive range of techniques from hand dying to crocheting, together creates a captivating piece.

FMP

Anyone whose on there art foundation are proberbly haunted by those single 3 letters 'FMP'!!
FMP stands for final major project, the last thing we'll be doing in this one year course and the only thing that determins the grade we come away with...
so yer slightly freaking out.

TITLE: implode, explode
........ yer thats about as far as ive got, worrying i know!

So im home in Manchester now on my easter break, and already started my gallery visits. The Whitworth gallery (which has a wallpaper exhibition on, hmm) wasnt too inpiring, however i did come away with one good thing...in the gift shop i found this book which is released every month: Textiles: The journel of Cloth and Culture. Road Art

So just was on a general nightly trip to our city local when myself and a flatmate (sophie) came across so abandoned goods. Sophie does fine art so she was loving life, what others may have thought of as trash we thought of as art installations.
have a look for yourself, genius or just plain garbadge.

Also that night we saw some inventive club night promotions, however posters seem to be a thing of the past.

Long time no speak..

yess i know its been a while sinse my last post..ive been highly busy with assesments, chistmas frolicking, starting a new project and maybe some general lazyness...
So its a new year and therefore lots of fresh starts, im excited to see some exciting new work by artists and designers and keep the inspiration flowing so i can hopefully make it through this foundation year and get onto my chosen degree course, fingers crossed.

Ive been back at uni now for 2 weeks and i have two weeks left
on my project 3, named 'inside, outside' and based on flowers. Flowers isnt the most exciting, inventive theme for a project however i feel that makes it more of a challenge as i am trying to create things that dont scream FLOWEERRRSSS.
Its going well so far, i have lots of ideas but not enough time. I also have the extra worry of trying to get a portfolio sorted for interviews too!

Anyway after this rant and moan of a message i will leave you with new year snap..lets hope theres exciting things ahead
